Tech Crunch beat me to the punch and put up a nice piece on using Findory’s new RSS reading feature.
In light of that, I thought I’d share some other cool Findory features -
- Customized RSS Feeds: Findory allows you to create customized RSS feeds based both on article source (News or Blogs) and article flavor. The latter allows you to choose the “flavor” from pre-determined categories like ‘Tech’ or ‘Top Stories’ or by using keywords. Once you make your selections, Findory will show you a preview of the type of content your feed will provide. There are actually a number of different ways to customize your feeds. Check out the “Simple Examples” on the Findory API page.
- Inline Findory: Want to include Findory content on your website? Inline Findory is your answer. Via javascript, you can create an HTML output of Findory content. Customization works the same as the RSS feeds. You can even alter the styling (click the “Show optional style code” box) to make the output match the look-and-feel of your site.
For the less technically savvy, there is also a Findory by E-mail feature.
There is a lot you can do with Findory and the best way to learn is to just start playing with it. For example, check out a neat little feature I just added by clicking on the “READ FINDORY” button under what I now call the “KEEP TABS ON ME” (previously “FEEDS”) section of our sidebar. If you like what you see and you are using Findory, be sure to click the “ADD FAVORITE” button on the Findory page (notice how I am giving you the option – otherwise, I would have used this link on that button).
