Will people switch from the iPhone? Of course some will.
But that’s note the important point. What’s key here (and I’m focusing on the U.S.), is that the #1 carrier with the most comprehensive 3G coverage is going to get Droid. Walk into a Verizon store and there’s no option for iPhone. There’s something like the iPhone though…and according to the sales person, “it’s better.”
If that person is feeling lucky that day and wants to play on making the world a better place, he might even describe how this iPhone-like phone is “open”:
I don’t want to make any promises…but….by buying this phone, you actualy are making the world a better place to live in…it’s “open.”
It doesn’t matter if the iPhone has 5 trillion apps…if you don’t have an iPhone, you get access to exactly zero of them.
Time to see if Android is legit or as promising as the Pre. Want an iPhone on Verizon? There’s no app for that…but there’s Droid.
